This Needs A Title
August 17
Man, these weeks get away from a guy pretty easy. I remember saying I was going to write more, then immediately stopped updating. But this post isn’t for me to complain about not posting.
So, first an announcement, I guess. Our family web site has had a soft opening. You can see our Flickr photos and read about some of our adventures on it. So where is this amazing site? Why at http://www.the-loves.com of course! So, go, read, comment. Just don’t be surprised if some things changed between visits.
This past weekend was Elaine’s birthday. We went out on Saturday night to a restaurant in Fayetteville named Hugo’s, then to a coffee bar for an after-dinner treat. Her mom came to visit on Friday night and made her a cake on Sunday. Mmmm, cake. She left on Sunday after we went out to dinner again at a local chinese buffet with around 200 yards of buffet tables. Yeah, that big.
Monday was E’s birthday and she and I celebrated by not doing much. I made French toast for her and we slept in late. We finished the day with dinner out at Shogun with my parents and her brother John. She and I sat down to eat a piece of cake and watch some of What the Bleep Do We Know!? before the power went out due to the storm.
Storms! Man, you should see the ones we’ve been having. We had storms on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights/days. Nothing really bad, but some have had some strong winds and lightning. The power has gone out two or three times and our porch looks like it’s about to collapse under all the water. But this sure beats the heck out of Oklahoma where it rains about 3 times for all of June, July, and August.
Not a whole lot else has been going on, really. I’ve finished the ecommerce tutorial in Agile Web Development with Rails but I haven’t had time to go through all of the testing and other development pieces. I’m sure I’ll have to time to really dig back in before too long.
Alright, this is getting kind of long and I need to get some stuff done.
