Do It For Elaine

February 7

Hey everyone. I know you’re all wonderful people and that you love my wife and I with all your finger and bandwidth. Well, here’s a chance to do something neat. Click on this link and sign up and complete one offer. They’re really simple things, like signing up for Blockbuster Online. They’re all free or cheap (like $1) to sign up for and if I can get just 5 of you do this (yeah, I realize that’s just about everyone that reads this silly site), I can give Elaine an iPod Mini. No, I’m not trying to wrangle you into doing my Valentine’s Day shopping. That’s already been done. The reason I’m putting this up is that Elaine was the main reason I was able to get this awesome new computer. When we went to CompUSA to look at all the Apple stuff she saw the iPod Minis and really wanted one. With our jobs and bills and stuff it’d take quite awhile to get enough money to get one, so this looks like a great way to help her get something she really wants. Yes, I realize she’ll probably read this and that she could sign up for it herself and help speed this along. That’ll never happen, though…right? ;) Thanks for help guys.

Addendum: If you do sign up, please leave a comment on this post. We’ll want to send you some sort of nice thank you gift and we’ll be sure and let you all know what color of Mini she gets and take photos of the arrival. Man, that sounds so silly, but I did it with the iBook. Thanks again.

I hope Elaine gets the Mini that she wants. I signed up tonight. The only thing I wasn’t sure of is, do I need to sign up for some service, like Blockbuster Online or weight loss pills (if you know my build, you’d laugh at this)? Anyway, i didn’t go through with that part because of the charges. Let me know if that was the plan, though. Thanks!

Yeah, you have to sign up for one of them. I suggest the Blockbuster Online one. Sign up for a month for $9.99 and then cancel a day or two later (or at least before the month is over) and you’re only out $10, but you can get a few movie rentals off of it, so it’s not a complete loss. If you like it, hey, it’s something you might have tried without it.

You can also try one of the $1/month trials and cancel before the end of the month and you’re only out a dollar.

Yeah, do a dollar one. Maybe our special gift to those who help will be their expenses back. :)

Ha! Kenneth, if I do a dollar offer and then ask for you to help recoup my expenses, I’m a lot worse off than I thought! I’d better start stocking up on the TopRamen noodles now. Or worse, the Smack noodles from Wal-mart. You know you’ve hit rock bottom when you’re forced to eat BARGAIN ramen noodles…

Anyway, I’ve signed up too, I just haven’t started an offer just yet. I’ll let you know which one I choose.

Ramen is Ramen, yo. :) Don’t be hatin’ on my Smack-snack-attacks.

    Thanks for helping out, Ray.

Did you know that the site is down? It says it will be back up soon, so I’ll keep checking back. I didn’t want to start any kind of trial over the weekend because I would have forgotten about it and been out a few more bucks than I was expecting! Have you or Elaine gotten any emails updating you on the status of the site?

Or if you’d like, you can contact the owner of the website yourself. :)

    Thanks for the address, Ray.

And thanks for that thread, Andrew. I’ll give it a few more days before I throw the towel in and call it a scam.

I need to come actually visit the site more often… I don’t think I’ve seen this new design. That’s what RSS will do for ya I suppose…

Or maybe I just have that bad of a memory. Maybe both. Who knows :-)

Your flickr link is busted, btw.
