Hallowe’en 4 of 13
October 22
Something a lot newer than yesterday’s song today. Sadly, it’s off of the vey disappointing “Rocky Horror Punk Rock Show” compilation. It’s one of the better tracks, though. Alkaline Trio’s Over at the Frankenstein Place

Today I want to get away from the Misfits and go a more traditional route. So, to bring back your childhood, here’s Monster Mash
update
I shouldn’t do posts late at night. I mislinked the file. It’s fixed now. Sorry for any problems, and you can thank Manny for pointing it out to me.

A follow-up to yesterday’s Misfits hit, here’s the second generation of Misfits doing Pumpkinhead

OK, here’s the first MP3. It’s an oldie-but-a-goodie. It’s Halloween by the Misfits.

Ever just have an urge to write something — anything? I have that right now. I don’t really have anything amazingly interesting or profound to write about, but I just can’t get this urge to write out of my head. Oh well, maybe something will come to me if I just give it time and a bit of a release.
Well, this past weekend went by without anything really noteworthy happening. John came over and we all went and watched Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence on Saturday. Well, we all went, but I just couldn’t stay awake, so I only saw about 30 minutes total. I have no problem with foreign films being subtitled, but English would have really helped to keep me awake. Japanese has a very lulling effect on me.
After that, we went to Barnes and Noble and to eat, then stopped by Blockbuster to pick up a game. We ended up getting Star Wars Battlefront which is an awesome game. If you haven’t played it, go get it and play it. There are a few annoying things (how easily you die, for example), but overall, an amazing game. I also picked up a used copy of Shadow Ops: Red Mercury since I didn’t get to beat it before it was due back, and it’s a great game also. Got to finally try out the deathmatch mode on it, which would be a lot better with more people.
We stayed at Elaine’s mom’s house for the weekend and just killed time there. John and I dominated the television for video games, but Elaine and her mom didn’t seem to mind, as they had things they were doing anyway. John and I also reformatted their mom’s computer, as it was going insanely slow. We’re talking 5 minute launch times for Internet Explorer. Yeah, that bad. It’s working a lot better now, which is great for Virginia, since it was pretty much impossible to use before.
We came home on Sunday night and watched some cartoons while we ate dinner. We bought this $5 DVD at Wal*Mart the other day that comes with 2 double-sided DVDs full of old cartoons. Popeye, Superman, Little Lulu, Woody Woodpecker, and Baby Huey are just some of the characters on these discs. It’s a really low-budget production, but the cartoons are still funny and enjoyable to watch. We’ve gone through a couple of the sides, and found some great cartoons.
So now I find myself sitting at work, correcting mistakes on the proofs with this overwhelming need to write something. It does seem to make me feel better to have written this synopsis of the weekend. Maybe all I needed was that bit of a release.
I hope I get some time to finish the final pieces of eyeheartzombies this week. I’m tired of the blue links on the others page and the old design on the photography pages. I really want to copy what I did at Elaine’s site for my photos, but I just have to set it up again. It sounds like so little, but I know I’ll find a hundred other things I want/need to fix when I do them. Hopefully that’ll finish everything. For now, at least.
No MP3
October 17
Sorry, folks, but no MP3 this week. In celebration of Hallowe’en, I’m going to release 13 MP3s next week, one per day, starting on Tusday, the 19th. So I’m not releasing any this week. Hope you can forgive me!
